The incentive problem with installer advice

Solar and battery installers are good at what they do. But they earn margin on the equipment they sell. That's a structural conflict that shapes every recommendation — even if they don't intend it to.

Battery timing advice is rarely neutral
An installer who stocks a particular brand has reason to recommend it now. We have no reason to recommend anything other than the right answer for your home.
Rebates are complex — and stacked wrong
Federal SRES, NSW VPP incentive, and the Cheaper Home Batteries program interact in ways most quotes get wrong. Knowing how to sequence them can save thousands.
